I have some deep inherent distrust in Twitter-only artists. I'm a lot more relaxed who I follow and retweet here, doesn't feel like everyone is obsessed with networking or making a living off of it, so I just see art I like and hit the happy buttons. Pretty much everyone I genuinely dislike is sourced on that site only.

@puketriton@baraag.net It's really a lose lose, if you distance yourself as much as possible from the way creators on the site behave, you end up feeling like you're pumping and dumping too. If you don't, you end up just being surrounded by people who see you as a network asset and have little interest in really interacting with the personality that'd make that art. But maybe I deserve this fate for only ever drawing my hedonistic desires. Not much to explore there. It's a gross cocktail of emotions to want to live off your work when playing "the game" feels like the only way to survive now, but also seeing people be rewarded frequently for plagiarizing or worse. I really have no choice but to recede into some bitter bubble and hope I can filter out the best.

@puketriton@baraag.net So, even though I do have some negative feelings for individuals around even here, it's so much less prevalent because It's as if the mere act of using these alternative places just to exist in peace is tantamount to saying "the race" means far less to them than others, so art is closer to art for them, than a means to an end.
