@Fox @Vox it wouldn’t hurt to have some Trans representation. I can only provide feedback knowing Trans people and having discussions with them. Other than that we have to base stuff on logical facts.

@Vox @Fox the drag Queen story hours are a few exceptions of stuff that barely happens but sexual stuff towards children is in inappropriate Secondly when I was the young the library has TONS of adult theme books available for straight kids. Why is it suddenly an issue? Because the media wants to make it an issue.

@Fox @Vox Both of them have made statements that are illogical and incorrect with science and facts around Transgender and LGB people. I will give that they do make some good points, but the points they make in error shows their lack of understanding of the community and situation. Simple as that.

@Vox @Fox The later. His statement (as I took it) is that second graders should not be presented with the topic, which is absurd. You don't think the kid with two moms has an understanding of sexuality? What about the kid with two dads. You can talk clinically about this with kids, they're much smarter than people give them credit for. You can simply say 'Some people love women and some people love men." and not get into the actual actions that are taken. It's not rocket science nor complex.

@Fox @Vox Qualifications exists for a reason, otherwise what is the purpose of getting a degree? Hospital isn't going to hire a kid who worked at McDonalds, they expect a level of competitency. The level of information concerns Trans people from the show is not to the high standards I've come to expect.

@Vox @Fox misaligned values can cause serious harm to individuals. I will agree with you on the point that kids aren’t learning what they need to. That is a failure I feel of enforcement but then again was a victim of teacher abuse so I’m not sure what the answer is there. In terms of parents wanting to have a say they already do everytime the kid comes home. If they want more control home school your kid as this has shown to be proven to have better outcomes.

@Fox @Vox I have a degree. I have a job in my field. It’s not rocket science. Not sure where the disconnect is. You train to become skilled in what you want to do. I wouldn’t hire a Plumber to install windows. And no one is asking you cow-tow to anything other than not be a douchebag which apparently is impossible for you to do.

@Vox @Fox Actually the majority of us are in the middle. I would argue that both extreme sides tend to propagate their message to add fuel to the fire. But that begs the question, how do we come to absolute truth? We have to start with one basic assumption from the Constitution in that you have the right to pursue life, liberty and happiness AS LONG AS your actions don't take that away from someone else. This is where the finer details get tricky. Thus we have to rely on the scientific method.

@Vox @Fox You are basing your assumption on the belief that all values are equal. They are not. Once again, the people who were for segregation were obviously wrong. This is why we have to logic to come up with laws. If your values are 'I get to kill anyone I want' well obviously your values are wrong. Now I know that is an extreme example, but asking not to teach children basic rules of nature in school is a crime and sorry it's going happen.

@Vox @Fox Yes the pronoun thing is just dumb. I honestly don't know if there were more Trans kids before and now they're just 'open to it' or if the schools are just making it a random fad. I can tell you from my experience, no matter what your child will find her way in the end if you are loving and supportive.
