I think that it is poor form for the ACMA (Australia comms regulator) to refer people to a Wayback Machine archive of its old content rather than maintaining its own info.

@Paarsec Spectacular! The closest I get is a 500mm mirror lens, but it just doesn't capture the detail. Are you using a tracking mount, or does the scope provide enough light for short exposures?

@tek ah, QB45, a fantastic language. Knowing that got me summer work developing a GUI for a source revision system (TLIB) using VBDOS. BBC BASIC & QB were outstanding character BASICs. Spent far too many years on VB5 and VB6 programming, but it paid the bills.

@tek I started on TRS80, then Sega, C64, BBC, GWbasic, and then QB. QB & VB were the ones where other people used my programs and I got $ in return

@tek 😬 If that was the competition no wonder Microsoft basic did so well on 8 bit machines.

@geordie Got that too. Hadn't posted anything remotely like that, so I suspect someone is trolling.

@alrs @rev_mook Interesting looking top loaded antenna there. What band is that for? 6m perhaps?

@geordie The 60deg MR16 LEDs from Woollies are quite diffuse. Not quite as good as the hockey-puck luminaires with diffuser, but cheap to try. https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/425217/olsent-led-gu5-3-mr16-6w-500lm-ww-60-

@geordie Can you replace the MR16/GU10 fitting? The Osram and Verbatim lamps with diffusers are nice (I have Verbatim, looks to be rebadged as Osram now). Need to have a socket outlet in the roof though (or get a sparkie to put one in). https://thelightguys.com.au/products/osram-ledvance-superstar-tri-colour-downlight-8w-240v-tri-colour-3k-4k-5k

@geordie That's how the old halogen down lights are in our place. When new ones were put in by sparkles during reno they put in sockets, and then plugged transformers in. Makes future upgrades much easier.

@geordie Oh, and some LED MR16s work nicely with the old heavy transformers and not the new electronic lightweight ones. And vica versa. Bit of a crapshoot replacing MR16s these days.

@alrs Three handhelds and two laptops. Hmm, that looks like the start of a good evening.

@prettygood Yet another reminder that isolators are not load-break switches. Somebody goofed on writing or executing their switching sheet.
