@theorytoe @enigmatico Up to 80% of Linux security vulnerabilities were caused by C.Up to 75% of Microsoft's and Chromium's.Up to 89% of Android's.Getting rid of C and C++, replaced by Rust, directly relates to this:https://security.googleblog.com/2022/12/memory-safe-languages-in-android-13.htmlAnd you can make C memory-safe? Really? Good luck managing that with 30,000,000 lines of code without making a single mistake.

@enigmatico @theorytoe I'd trust Google and Microsoft code over a GNU cultist bedroom-coder any day.The only sane security, privacy (yes, you read that correctly), and stability, comes from projects from the main set of companies, not bedroom coders who couldn't care less about what the term "CFI" means in 2023, and having some of the worst code myself, GrapheneOS, Qubes OS, even Gentoo, have ever seen. I've had some detailed and lengthy discussions with people who aren't actually cultists, and pretty much every one of them will tell you how large a pile of bullshit GNU and its cultist followers' codebases are. Even downplaying severe security issues in GPG, GNU continues coding like they don't know what the word "code" means. If you aren't like that, sure, I'll try your code, but I don't want any FOSS cultist BS near me.

I have completed the process of phasing out obsolete and insecure PGP across all of my services and contact methods.I have also configured my web server to strip, and allow stripping of, filename extensions in URLs of my webpages, making them cleaner and easier for everyone to remember. My contact pages and key pages have been split into 2 different webpages, in order to separate them for finer-grained control and to allow the ability of posting non-contact keys, such as SSH keys. All Git commits across supported Git servers, including my own at https://git.inferencium.net/ will now be signed by me using my SSH key from this point onwards. I will be using the same SSH key to sign files. I may add a Signify key in future as a fallback for when SSH is not an option but Signify is; both are superior to PGP.Contact:https://inferencium.net/contactKeys:https://inferencium.net/key

@fell This can also be a detriment to businesses which don't require privacy, thus the tracking not mattering much for that. Stopping workflow is unacceptable for it, however.

@kaia This actually makes sense, since it's such a far out thing to do, especially if they give you a look of concern as they pretend to be.

@rqsd It is. It's the most superior back-end of them all. Written in Erlang, which was designed for high-concurrency, by telecommunications companies, for telecommunications companies; if it's good enough for them, it's good enough for everyone.Source: Me. Tried Prosody and it sucks in comparison.

@rqsd Prosody has a slightly easier configuration file, but it doesn't make up for how much it sucks in every other area.

@SrEstegosaurio You don't need an AV on Unix. Use different user accounts for UID isolation, and don't run anything untrusted as root.
