@itnewsbot yes. Very similar to the Spaceball and Spacemouse 3D controllers I've been using with CAD since the 90's. They really help with productivity.

@dada @FreeCAD Yes. I've had the same experience. People who do sketch + pad models like it. But I'm struggling with shape type work. They can't have it easy to find enough people who can program, know CAD and usability as well.

@tallship @jon @Vivaldi @mozilla @ruario Yes. I've been on as many different fediverse networks as I can for many years. Mastodon is too shallow and Twitter like. No special interest groups where you get to know the members, with 2-way dialog, which is missing from the Local timeline. Only in replies, but impossible for others to find later.Mastodon has a quality UI and it is getting members, but with it's drive-by announcements style, it can't build communities as well as some of the others.

@hehemrin @rysiek @inkscapeYes. That's exactly my line up for serious but non pro photography. And inkscape for non pro artwork too.Non pro to me means no productivity deadlines. But quality targets would be actually higher. As I have time, and I want results to satisfy myself.

@itnewsbot The twisted result is thinner in the middle. So a poor method was chosen if a constant thickness is required. A single thick offset of 3 joined surfaces with a solid result would fix that. Sketch, clone and positioning was good. But the blend curves without 3D handles is clumsy. As well as swapping workbenches to get curves that didn't need 8 joins, is another learnability barrier to be fixed. E.G. both blend curve types in 1 command with a switch. Better default end snapping too.

@worldsendless Yes. There is so much I've left behind and forget was mainstream. A bit like people smoking in bars, and I haven't driven a car for many years either.

@worldsendless I live in a city. So cycling is the easiest way. No parking or traffic problems. No huge costs either. And I love my bike trailer for any big things.

@worldsendless Yes. It can be tricky. Since I started working from home I got no exercise. So now I cycle to an empty office 3 days a week.

@killyourfm but what if my negative voice gives me the 'silent treatment'? Just sitting there, looking at me in that way. Tapping it's foot to War Pigs.I wish I hadn't written that now. It's given me the hibbley-jibblies.

@beecycling @OkayKay I back up to #Nextcloud accounts in different countries. https://nextcloud.comWith Google "losing people's data", using multiple cloud services seems advisable.https://www.theregister.com/2023/11/27/google_drive_files_disappearing/
