       If you're like me, then you were really happy to learn about Mastodon's enthusiastic support for image descriptions, and you were really eager to join in.Then you went to actually write something and realized you have no idea how to present visual information in a way that is helpful/enjoyable to those who are #VisuallyImpaired or #Blind.        Hi new followers... there are a lot of you. Just to be clear-- I didn't write the alt-text guide I linked, and I'm not at all involved in the VI community. There are a lot of people in that thread who are more knowledgeable, and you should probably follow them for that type of content. I feel a bit weird that I've more than tripled my audience using someone else's content to advocate for a community I'm not a part of.

       @ZachWeinersmith you're missing pineapple.Also, miracle fruit gets an honorary mention for making all of the other fruits taste better. Everyone should try having a miracle fruit at least once, it's like being on drugs without the drugs.
