Israel is currently engaging in a genocide in Gaza. The end goal of their current campaign is to kill or remove all Palestinians. This is not a war; this is not about stopping HAMAS (who are just as evil). There is no collateral damage: the civilians are the target. As are aid vehicles and journalists. This must end.https://www.icj-cij[.]org/sites/default/files/case-related/192/192-20231228-app-01-00-en.pdf <-- warning; this website is behind CloudFlare and blocks the Wayback Machinehttps://web.archive.org/web/https://theintercept.com/2024/01/03/state-department-mass-displacement-palestinians/https://web.archive.org/web/20240106125547/https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/israeli-ambassador-to-uk-does-not-deny-she-is-arguing-for-destroying-whole-of-gaza/ar-AA1msUr2https://twitter[.]com/UNReliefChief/status/1740804242640904415https://cpj.org/2024/01/journalist-casualties-in-the-israel-gaza-conflict/https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/dec/21/israel-idf-accused-targeting-journalists-gazahttps://web.archive.org/web/https://cpj.org/2024/01/journalist-casualties-in-the-israel-gaza-conflict/

A word of warning to M$ #Outlook users: Outlook (the web version at least) does not appear to block or proxy tracking images in emails by default. Therefore, anyone can embed a hidden image in an email and know when you opened the email & from what IP.To protect yourself, you could:- use a more privacy respecting email [recommended]- run uBo in hard mode and block 3rd party connections on Outlook (be sure to allow the numerous M$ domains)- use an email client which blocks tracking images/all images by default (maybe Thunderbird? not sure)

@DrALJONES Israeli officials:"there are no non-combatants in Gaza""it is clear that all the Gazans need to be destroyed""One of the things we realised is that every school, every mosque, every second house, has access to the tunnels. The Washington Post has been the victim of a cyberattack, with the attackers compromising the email accounts of several journalists, specifically those reporting on national security, economics, and China. Some speculate this attack was the work of a nation state threat actor. If this is the case, this attack has concerning implications for the freedom of the press.https://web.archive.org/web/https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/washington-posts-email-system-hacked-journalists-accounts-compromised/#WashingtonPost #Cyberattack #PressFreedom

I have confirmed archive.ph, which archive.today redirects to, has malicious code which attempts to spam gyrovague.com with requests. The code I independently verified matches the code in the Hacker News post.Behind CloudFlare: https://tria.ge/260116-d3jafadj81/behavioral1Do not use archive.today, archive.is, and archive.ph. By accessing these websites, you are donating your bandwidth to a botnet of unknown origin and purpose.Original source:https://social.coop/@eb/115902323900229756An emergency update to the Malicious Website Blocklist has been made to counter this threat. An emergency update is currently in the works to fix the emergency update as it is in the wrong place (I want to link to this toot in the update, so waiting to commit until I post).

@melroy The problem isn't Apple. The UK government is requiring all companies to perform such age checks, and many other places like the EU and California are following suit. Companies - and even open source projects - have to obey the law, even if they or their users disagree with it.The law doesn't specifically require companies ask for credit cards - and that's a pretty poor way to handle age verification. However, other methods also are bad for their own reasons, requiring users to either submit to a racist and invasive face scan, or provide an ID.Apple and Microsoft are horrible companies, but for other reasons. Moreover, as we are seeing with California, open source operating systems are also required to comply. Software developers should not and can not simply pick and choose what laws they obey. Its unfair to blame them for the UK's poorly written mass surveillance and censorship legislation. The blame lies with the UK government, and with every other government mandating this.

@RTP @melroy Interesting.Has Apple (or other OS companies) done such lobbying in favor of age verification legislation? Or is it mainly social media companies? That would certainly undermine my original argument if Apple was actively supporting this legislation rather than simply meeting their legal obligations. Thanks
