Well this is an exciting development: #Firefox 110 on #macOS is finally getting #CTAP2 support! This means it can finally support passwordless use of #WebAuthn with security keys πŸ”₯To test this out for yourself, go to about:config, set security.webauthn.ctap2 to True, then give it a shot. It's just a matter of time before this is turned on by default πŸŽ‰

@GossiTheDog I hate the idea that things I've contributed to the Mastodon fediverse get split up across instances if I ever move out of infosec.exchange to another community I feel I vibe more with. "Account portability" here means you can bring your followers list along to a new instance, but all your existing content gets left behind on the old instance. This aspect plays out horribly in my head whenever I consider migrating:"Now where did I post that again?" And then I waste a bunch of time searching multiple instances πŸ™ƒ

@jerry @mastodonmigration These two need About pages describing what they are/used for. I only know they're somehow aiming to be Reddit alternatives? I know I can dig up the projects' homepages and read up directly, but having descriptions directly on the instances might help generate some confidence/inspiration to learn more πŸ˜…

I once again found myself installing the AAA app on my iPhone because local searches for "AAA" turned up nothing. This was despite my gut feeling that I had installed it on the past...So what does opening the AAA app after installation do? Before it shows me any UI it immediately redirects me to the "Auto Club" app that I had installed the whole time (and is the official AAA app I have to use instead because of where I live in the US) πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ This has happened a half dozen times at this point; I so infrequently need AAA that I always forget between service calls. It's maddening that the Auto Club app apparently isn't able to include an alias for "AAA" so the app will come up locally when I search for apps via Home Screen or App Library search by the name of the company 🫠#ios

I just realized I can @ people in my library's releases on GitHub. What a convenient way for me to highlight those who occasionally contribute to the project 😌

@simon I wish I'd seen some of these conversations earlier. The complexity of maintaining a library that tries to support both v1 and v2 was too much for me and I recently announced that I'm removing Pydantic as a dependency. I wonder if things would really be better with v1 or v2 under a new package name...https://infosec.exchange/@iamkale/111705909842887194
