So I have one bike, an electric assist bike, and as I've shared here, I'm saving up for a #Rivendell next spring (non-electric, regular bike).Hubby has teased me this is too many bikes, and I've said, "Dude, you have no idea how bike people get, be grateful I'm only thinking of two," and it led to us guesstimating how many people have more than one bike. We've had YouTube Premium attached to my account for a few years for the kids. They love it. It's $23 a month, which is $276/yr. YT is now infusing genuine content with AI editing, without permission or notification, among other AI issues.I want to drop this subscription with _every fiber of my being_. The kids are really freaking out about it. They're both poor students and use it for music and movies. I'm willing to pay for alternatives. Have you dealt with this situation? Thoughts?

I’ve been organizing music today, into static playlists for use with an MP3 player.It’s astounding how good this task feels, to break away from streaming services and go back to my own collection of music, algorithm-free and played on a device that isn’t collecting my data in order to exploit me.I’m not at all being facetious when I say that it feels healing. I love analog but I don’t need analog everything. I want the tech I do use to feel like a tool, not a compromise with the Death Star.

All I want is a few acres of forest and spaces for my favorite people to each have a tiny home. And paths that go between the houses. Far enough so you aren’t looking in but close enough so that evening Rummy games and impromptu 80’s dance parties can happen organically. Also the paddock for the rescued horses. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of those. I know I mention this every few months but it’s because I really want it to happen and maybe if I keep mentioning it, it will.

I dunno if anyone remembers this but about six months ago my friend Katie adopted a “failed” bomb sniffing dog named Ethos. She had been exited from the program because she didn’t like loud noises. (No joke)She and Katie became immediate best friends and now Ethos enjoys a life of endless treats, cuddles, and gets to take nose work classes (at which she totally excels). Anyway, Merry Christmas from the cutest career-changing Labrador in the South!🎄
