@craigmaloney I much prefer the #GitLab transparency (their employee handbook and policy documents are all open source), reliability, authenticity (no deceptive ads anywhere), and dev tools (free CI-CD and static hosting), to #SourceForge's clickbait garbage pile. All you had to do to revive your neglected repo was a touch and push once a year. Not much to ask for all that free stuff.

@frankie password managers are a single point failure for your entire online life, so it's important to choose one that is secure, auditable, and incentivized to be transparent. I think that narrows your list down to just BitWarden, IMHO.

@fedops @frankie I will get to know KeePass. All the ports to other OSes (from the official Win release), and the lack of versioning in git is worrying. Not sure the supply chain security for keepass is any better than for bitwarden. The kp ports are currently listed as unstable. So kp doesn't really seem to be of the sane "generation" as modern cross platform, cloud synced apps like bw. I wonder what intel facilities use for PW management.

@naln1 are there better alternatives for "Adams Apple" as a visually pronounced larynx? "throat knee" "throat bump" we'll have to work hard to come up with a catchy term and spread it by memes if we really want to escape the history/religions/biases of English.

@naln1 hmm. I can think of limitless appropriate and sensitive and prosocial uses for all 3 terms as distinct from each other in connotation etc: Adams Apple and pronounced larynx and larynx. Other authors do too. I guess I'll have to try to come up with a less medical and more sensitive term on my own. We have knee cap instead of patella, etc. Words are fuzzy and flexible. We need many words for the same physical objects to convey meaning effectively. Ice vs black ice etc.

@thenewoil had no idea about the 33 #pypi packages that include #XMRig (#monero miner #malware). Hundreds of malicious npm packages dont surprise me anymore. Just a lot more diversity and volume of packages to begin with.

@vriska and med school costs a minimum of 100k/yr, so if somehow the med student got through undergrad without loans, then they'd have at least 400k debt after 4 years and 10k would be 2.5% of their problem. Much less of a gift to them than inflation or low interest rate.
