@LoliHat @Iffine @ChristiJunior >the episode with the Exocompsfunny, I just watched that one the other night. I like the fact that old trek often portrays even the most rudimentary and odd life as worth protecting. The episode with the captured borg also exemplifies this idea. Even though I think sacrificing the borg individual to corrupt the collective might have been an acceptable solution, it's nice to have a show that is staunchly against the idea that the ends justify the means, when a lot of modern media is the opposite. I don't think we'll ever have true star trek again at this point. The cultural zeitgeist and expectations for tv shows have changed too much.

@LoliHat @Iffine @ChristiJunior I've heard a lot of people say that the orville is a good ST show, I guess I should watch it. I just despise seth macfarlane and his writing so much that every mention of it kinda sloughed off my mind

@Dude I feel bad for u metroid niggas. I had to experience this exact thing with halo 4 & 5 when those came out, but everyone was like "no, it's good actually" whenever I would call those games dogshit. At least metroid fans seem to be quicker to call a turd a turd

@Dude oppress the newfags as much as possible before your lore is ruined and your gameplay suffers from "advanced movement"

@Iffine @TrueMasterCole @SuperSnekFriend this is a good defense of the logic behind speedrunning. I've always personally gravitated towards score play or challenge runs when I get too good at a game, though. Time-based challenges just don't click for me in general.part of the reason is that I don't see the appeal of running a lot of the popular games. Like, minecraft speedrunning makes zero sense to me. Might as well just go to a casino at that point. Also things like goldeneye, where the camera is pointed at the ground for half the run to reduce lag.I would much rather watch (or play) something like dustforce, which is built for speedrunning, versus a game that becomes visual clown vomit when played at speed.

@Iffine @SuperSnekFriend @TrueMasterCole learning some of the mario 64 glitches actually was fun, but it made me realize how absurdly bad I am at 3d platformers lol.btw your post reminded me that I haven't played a proper touhou fangame in years. Looks like I have one to check out now, because this gameplay checks a lot of boxes for me.

@ninja8tyu just seek Christ and you'll be forgiven. You don't need a church, a priest, baptism, or anything of the sort

@ninja8tyu it's impossible to point anyone down a certain path. Read the bible yourself and see how you interpret it. Asking other people and having them fling around verses won't do anything, since any section of the old or new testament could be the thing that convinces you of Christ's divinity. That's the only thing that matters, anyway. Understand the sacrifice, what it meant, that He was the son of God, and you have eternal life already. Don't be lead down a path of fear, self-loathing, and man-made ritual. The truth is simple, and you will find it some day

@Ronnie21093 @Iffine if it's synthetic, it's easy to care for but tangles and frizzes more readily. The only thing I've ever used is a slightly wet comb. Natural fibers are more sensitive but tangle less. The most you'd ever need would be soap and water, and that's unnecessary unless your doll got dunked in mud or hot glued or something

@Iffine how's the dpad on each of those 8bitdo controllers + the new xbox controller? The only reason I use the ds4 as my primary is because of how the dpad feels, layout isn't a big deal for me

@Iffine I don't mind a clicky dpad, but I hate the xbone's dpad so much that I pretty much wrote off the series x one. Might give it a try in person if I have a chance. From a cursory glance, though, it looks like the pro 3 might be what I'm looking for. I appreciate the help, I didn't want to have a mad catz moment by mistake lol

@Iffine I got a modded series x controller per your recommendation and I've been having a good time with it. The pad is great, and the bumpers are way better than the xbone controller.Have some 2hu gameplay as a thank you

@Iffine I usually play simple platformers with my snes controller, but this one was nice enough for me to try it out. The only thing I don't like about it is the actuation force and travel distance of the face buttons. I can button mash quite a bit faster on the snes controller, but I suppose that's fairly situational. And yeah, udongein x is a good little game. Of course, I am very biased since I will probably enjoy anything megaman x inspired

@SuperSnekFriend @Iffine microsoft is retarded and doesn't like to differentiate things. Left is an xbox one controller, right is a series x controller. They work with both consoles afaik, but the one that came with the series x is much better

@poopernova ik the og post is bait but it got me thinking about mech designs. I think my favorite 'realistic' designs are the lost planet vital suits. They're very hefty, slow, and utilitarian in design, yet they still feel extremely powerful compared to being on foot. The craziest models are fairly tame by mecha standards, but they stick out in-universe as being incredible pinnacles of technology. Mainly, I like how the vital suits don't make foot soldiers obsolete. They feel like a natural evolution of armor, one step up from a tank, rather than unstoppable fortresses
