@aljazeera never forget that the root of this is NATO bombing the crap out of Libya...chaos ensued.

@itnewsbot one big incentive to switch to Linux is Windows 11 and Microsoft 365. The former because it's bloatware, and the latter because the goal is that you no longer purchase your software, you rent it.

@jensorensen great idea. We need to get the rest of men on board if we want a habitable planet. Totally relate to the biking one. I bike in city traffic regularly. It is at least in downtown Ottawa, the fastest way to get around.

@linuxtechmore FF is the default browser on Linux distributions, at least on Ubuntu and Pop!OS. I do have Chrome as well, mainly for testing in an alt browser that resembles MS Edge

@linuxtechmore this Mastodon post brought to you by the good folks at Mozilla, makers of Firefox and Thunderbird (which is my email client of choice)

@linuxtechmore I use Chrome with caution. Any browser can log all the sites you visit. The difference is that Chrome is run by a company that has economic incentive to monetize what it knows about your browsing history. Mozilla, less so.

@stux sure makes it easier for bikes to attain NCV (near-car velocity), although from what I remember of Amsterdam, most of the bikes are 1-speed

@rchusid the closest thing to an honest answer was actually from Tru p explaining why US troops were I Syria. "They are bad, so we're there to take the oil" or something like that. And by close I mean 1-10% truthful.

@stephanie @DanFox @RickiTarr overall, I found some of the questions a bit loaded. Many times I wanted to say "yes, however..." or "in some instances, however..."

@courtcan @stephanie @DanFox @RickiTarr yeah, exactly. The whole thing about market forces vs govt intervention absolutely should not be black and white. One extreme is, well, corporate oligarchy, and the other is communism
