@enigmatico @dhfir but without mining you'd have the problem of diverging branches, so no longer a chain but a tree - so to say many different realities but not one consensus. I mean, it sounds like a fun idea to have many different realities but this kinda defeats the idea of a blockchain if you can't agree on which chain you're using...

@rin is φ(n) defined to be what is written in the last line? So the first line would be the new statement to be shown? (I hate this thing in me which says "you should understand this" whenever I see math [to be fair, this was in a course I took last semester, so I really should])And are all lectures in your uni in St Petersburg in English?

@chjara I've had a similar issue with my old laptop (though the display wouldn't turn on itself, only when hibernating and resuming) and I could solve it by buying a new (refurbished) inverter board for the lcd backlight. Don't know if that's helpful in any way for you tough...
