@kissane Is paying for FOSS a thing? E.g. I would need an app that show random cat pictures. FOSS app exists, only shows dogs. Can I pay an unknown person to help out? Asking for a friend with obscure hobbies.

@h4890 @luckytran Masks are like seatbelts. They work, but don’t prevent all deaths. What is Sweden at the top of the EU in? And is anyone in Sweden asking why you guys have started dying more than you used to? Might those 4% excess deaths be explained by recent COVID infections?

@troed @w7voa #Sweden: expects #Türkiye, the second largest #NATO country, to send their sons and daughters to fight and die when #Russia attacks Sweden, but refuses to extend even the most basic iota of decency in exchange. Like a neighbor asking you to watch his house while he’s on vacation after calling your wife ugly all over town.

@stux @TheVoyageur A month ago, I actually “minted” a sports #NFT, the “#MLB Rookie Ball of the Year 2023”. It was available for free, probably as a marketing stunt since you had to register an account. First #Baseball “memorabilia” for me, and a fun learning experience. Seems there are actually many opportunities to get free #NFTs if you just want to try it out, enjoy collecting free things, or are loss averse.

@jquillin @Talia As for #NFTs, how about the NFT you can’t sell - https://www.forbes.com/sites/stephaniehirschmiller/2023/06/07/unpacking-the-strategy-behind-louis-vuittons-39k-digital-treasure-trunk-nfts/ If #Fortnite qualifies as a #Metaverse, last month also saw a #Nike #EpicGames multi year collab bringing #NFTs to gaming. Might not be for everyone, nor the best strategy, but just like polka and accordions, probably not going away any time soon.
