@kacey To be honest, it all started to go wrong when those crazy kids stopped using proper Anglo-Saxon dual pronouns....https://oldenglish.info/pro3.html

@danjac @tek I was a freelancer for 20 yrs & this happened all the time. Especially when the hiring process included recruitment agents & HR people rigidly applying arbitrary checkbox filters (as here) that they didn't understand in order to exclude candidates. Agencies often did this because they could only submit a couple of CVs, effectively creating a shortlist for people to try to make it onto the hiring company's shortlist. And they still insisted there was a shortage of skilled IT staff.

@tf @Wen @CloudyMrs @MadeyeTheCarnaptious @Roadwarrior29 That shot is from a Neal Ascherson article about possible ways forward for the independence cause, even if the SNP is having problems.I'm from Wales, studied & later worked in Scotland, & if I still lived there I'd vote for independence in a heartbeat. To me, the piece is very sympathetic to Scottish self-determination. Even the Guardian sometimes lets a decent article about Scotland through the filters. YMMVhttps://www.theguardian.com/politics/article/2024/may/04/the-snp-may-be-laid-low-but-the-call-of-scottish-independence-is-loud-and-clear
