       @grammargirl I’d argue it’s the carrot peeler. You can fake a salad spinner by loading a clean pillowcase with your greens, going outside, and whirling it over your head. A paring knife is not as easy as a vegetable peeler, more wasteful (at least in my hands), and not safe to delegate to a kid the way peeling carrots with a peeler is!
