       @Mek101 @msh As an engineer, I get that. From the perspective of making this easy to use and easy to find, Mastodon is what people see and how they are engaging. So naturally this is what they are calling it. I’m a big believer in starting where people are and using the words they use. Of course when they join Mastodon they are joining the Fediverse! Some of them might even know what that means already. Most of them will never need to know about the ActivityPub protocol.

       Just a gentle reminder to those of us moving over here from that other platform. I know it’s probably technically possible to set up a bot that will automatically share your Twitter feed over here, or just copy-paste. But this place feels different. Better to come over here and post based on the conversations that are actually going on here vs what may be going on elsewhere.That’s a faster way to learn the norms, be a good guest, and ultimately master the platform.#TwitterMigration
