Just remembered a time a few years ago when a black classmate of mine got arrested for robbing a convenience store. We weren't friends but I talked to him enough to know what he was like. Real goofy but was such a troublemaker. I think he was a year older than all of us. When the local news article started floating around, I gave it a read. The comments were open and it was a bunch of boomers telling it like it was about black crime and how we needed to get this shit under control. Needless to say it made me feel awful at the time. Never thought I'd see "actual racism" from real people in my community. That was 17yo me living in a mostly-white suburb.This is 22yo me after living in a majority-nonwhite college campus.

@merchantHelios I decided I hated college and tech in general after my freshman year. Everything is so infantilizing like this. I know there are still "sane" companies but ever since 2020 it feels like a lost cause to even look.
