Done, my preorder of #Civilization7 has been cancelled.I was looking forward to #CivilizationVII because #Civilization is one of the very few games I keep playing, year after year. Preordering was possible since last week, so I did.And then I found out Civ7 would come with the loathsome #Denuvo #DRM shite. I'm not having that kind of intrusive we-can-shut-you-down-anytime-we-like crap on any of my systems.So I cancelled my preorder, and got the confirmation:We’ve issued the refund to the payment provider. @Eric Buijs I prefer FLOSS in everything, including games. One such game I've played for many years is @Battle for Wesnoth.But not all games are free, and I understand that you need to pay salaries if you hire developers to create a game.I have no problem paying for a game that costs money, but I refuse to buy stuff that can be disabled whenever somebody feels like it.And mind you, a malfunction in one of the systems might trigger that too, not only the suspicion of foul play.Shipping crap like #Denuvo is the studio telling me that they don't trust me. So they can sod off then.

And a good thing too: it's the self-cleaning mechanism of the Fediverse.If the moderator or moderation team of an instance rules that someone's posts are against their rules, they kick them off.Same as what Eloon does on his Swastika-sans-serif, only on the Fediverse you can move to another instance, one that will let you post the stuff you want to post.So, if someone likes to post nazi-shit, he'll have to find an instance that's ok with that.
