@EllenInEdmonton @dnc Not Kdrama. But our son, who is chef, was very enthusiastic about late Anthony Bourdain travelling through S.K. Small countryside and seaside-, places. Talking with local people. Astonishing it was to hear how much they know ." This is for the spleen, that is for your brains"Also an episode about a nun living in the woods alone. Grew up in Seoul, dropped out age 16. "She teaches all of us chefs" ( quote).Invited to talk to World's top chefs in the US. Both were on NtFlx.

@clive As seen from a Dutch point of view: E-bike is fine, but in a bike-country like The Netherlands there are problems with it in the busier cities.Young kids on tuned fast fat-bikes mixing with older people also e-biking, thinking they still have control at age 80 like the younger ones.My sis-in-law e-bikes in Hamilton,-Ontario to her work.± 20 minutes. On the pavements, few bike-paths.But I do read about other US/Can. cities working hard to improve infrastructure.

@futurebird @scottjenson I had a few tries with simple questions, it came back with some sort of Reply Guy answers..A good movie, a good book, a good painting: Sometimes somebody gives a hint, or you discover the hidden clue, almost another dimension , by yourself."Between The Lines".I don't think any AI robot can see that other dimension.Or create something like it.Just mimicking .

@ErikUden @CStamp As Korean Drama addict I can't help bringing up Queen SeonDeok again. As drama and as person. The only female ruler in Korea 's history, who laid the foundation for a unified nation.Still regarded as one of best. The problems she faced were exact Now.Demolition of middle-class, manipulation with superstition and food markets.https://www.worldhistory.org/Queen_Seondeok/

@futurebird As long time catering -worker in and around trains, still user , busses as well: In West. Europe and a part of it in the UK . For many years trains had replicas from Art- icons hanging on the walls. Van Gogh, Monet, Escher etc. It was the first entrance for many , making curious. Now , usually a cycle of info and adverts, repeating every so many minutes.Well trained to watch it not longer than that. No lasting interest. No curiosity. London Tube is the exception: Art by itself

@futurebird Markets, like in streetmarkets or farmermarkets ?In most of Europe they are still essential, the last remaining connection with organic and natural farming, and real food in general. Not all stands are always 100 % all of that. There can be several cheese -or fish-sellers on one market. But always better than the supermarkets with their factory-food.

@futurebird @Moss I always thought that what is in my mind and instincts was just the odd collection of randomness , thrown there by god-knows-who, with a certain "me" in control, trying to find out how.Now I have to think it all over again...

@futurebird Ants were not my interest to be honest. But ants make a nice change , when learning more about them.I remember reading " The Once and Future King " by T. H. White a long time ago.King Arthur becoming a temporary member of several animal-worlds. Also as an ant.Living as a laborer, serving the Queen like everybody else.Did not understand most of it, I did not understand anything at all at that time. The Blessing of Youth :)But now: Ants rule !

Pinball-machines, games, ringtones , so many. She gave a concert two years ago using her synthesizer and two smartphones.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Ciani

@futurebird @EverydayMoggie @waldoj Same in Europe. We try to avoid ordering online, but too many specialised shops are closing. Sometimes you have to , for tiny little things. Using different shops, from a good protected Linux- device. Within a week always getting average 3 calls mentioned here. After that it dies out. Who is peeking in it somewhere?

@futurebird Thing is, The Netherlands is the same. Temporary workers from out of the EU-region, allowed to work their shifts on the fields, which have highest amounts of pesticides and poison.Out when season is finished. In some industry a fence runs through the complex. The temps and the fewer fixed contracts can not have contact with each other. And talk about ¨things¨.Germany, max. 2 hr drive from anywhere in NL has laws for that. Fix and temp have same wages and protection.

@futurebird In a logical way, no problems to image a future where termites, fungi etc rule again. No, not joking about JFK jr.

@futurebird I feel blessed to have landed on a public cultural spot 5 years ago as pensioner, in an utmost divers team with roots in all directions. Having Amsterdam nearby helps. Many local lines like music, theatre, library etc cross there. Cooperation is growing , There seems to be a need to DO things together , instead of just sending useless apps all the time.Except for real info.Steering away from SM. Situation is not as severe as in US yet, but is in the back of the mind by many.

@futurebird @kechpaja The "Flash" of "being there", in any environment as a living creature, is not less in an ant than in a human I think.

@futurebird Perhaps I mentioned this before, not sure.I was member of a Toronto-based forum with global reach from 1999 till 2010 when it stopped. About old Canadian/Celtic stories. And just random off-topic. About 70% female. Plenty with Asian roots. Average IT-level was far above mine. The game self-stalking and double-googling was played sometimes. "Try to find me somewhere else " and "google once and google twice for the opposite¨>. A lot of fun with that , and the instinct was woken up.
