@alcinnz That article has been in my RSS feed aggregator for several days and I just got around to reading it yesterday, ironically :)

@sean your new year's resolution? Good luck! I know it's a tough road to hoe.

@lightone @alexl Thanks for the highlight! The API is feature complete and done primary development but still in late-stage development (reviews, tweaks, lots more real world testing, etc.) The devtest server is open for others to register on so they can play with the API at this time though. Feel free to ping me or drop onto the Diaspora Discourse Forum for help or to give feedback. https://discourse.diasporafoundation.org/

@sean The "have done nothing to support federation with other platforms" comment...is there something other than integrating with AP that would qualify for this? Is there an outreach problem with people using/implementing D*'s protocol, something else they could/should be doing, or is it really "just do AP"?

@heluecht @sean Thanks for providing the insight versus the whole "why don't they **just** do this or that..." There is a lot of emotion wrapped up in this whole AP discussion which seems to then devolve into shitposting.

@heluecht @sean for many of the larger changes its an FTE combined with necessary focus problem. As was written on that chain AP has other factors going on too. Blistering developer ranks is something I’m hoping to do directly and indirectly.

@ashfurrow Yeah I'll pass too. Everytime I head over to SourceForge for a project that is still there it seems like a trainwreck. I'll do Gitlab if I have a choice, followed by GitHub...

@sean I had a System76 and liked it a lot except to battery life. I don’t ended up going MacBook Pro and don’t regret it but wish I could get an i7 with 9 hr battery life in an ultra book factor from System76...Galago Pro just doesn’t get there with battery.

@aral I have no strong aversion to using JavaScript or not using JavaScript. However this brought me to an interesting question. If we are essentially writing full fledged apps that run in the browser should we be thinking of going back to traditional apps that run locally instead?

@debian There's one going on in Bratislava too IIRC. Is this a world wide bug squashing event for Debian or just a coincidence?

@cwebber I'd love an LGPL but with exceptions for static as well as dynamic linking.

This sort of asshattery is why I focus on the #fediverse so that we can stop giving these billionaire assholes more and more money and control over our lives.

My #diaspora swag package arrived in less than a week. Balmy weather means taking the hoodie out for a spin at dinner tonight :D
