@evelynyapThe last two years my phone ran without the original battery, with 5 volts power from the plug or from a powerbank, directly connected to + and - contacts where the battery once sat. The cable was going out from the back. Maybe I send a photo tomorrow. The phone still operates but is not suitable for everyday use. It can still operate for days or weeks on the power grid.

Hi @evelynyap, here is the requested image. Be careful when connecting the blank wires, look up usb colors and the electric orientation (+/-) of battery contacts before. You don't need the data wires in the middle.5 volts is slightly more than 4.2 volts, so no guarantee that your phone survives, but it should do.The original usb connection of my phone doesn't work anymore, maybe that came from my manipulation.The connection on the left is a special construction, usually there is a USB plug.

@evelynyapThe wires on the photo look white and grey for me, I'm not sure if they are correct coloured. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB says you need black and red. If you have a device for measuring voltage you could test (red is +).As a workaround you can use your tongue, hold both wires with a low distance (without short circuit) and it should be fizzy if they are working.Another thing is my phone needs at least a power supply of 700mA to connect to 3g network and 1000mA for 2g.

@evelynyapUsing just one battery could easily overcharge, I think using three should work. They are rated volts 1.2*3=3.6 so like an empty li-ion battery and can go to 1.4*3=4.2 the upper end of li-ion while going a bit warm.Would be awesome if you could build a working low capacity replacement. I would implement it at my bike for Navigation when I'm back from traveling (already made a car usb charger loading a powerbank from the dynamo).

@necrosis das es nicht GB sondern 12TB sind wird es derzeit wohl oft am schneller sein, den oder die Datenträger mit der Post zu verschicken.Ansonsten wenn einer einen vom anderen Rechner aus erreichbaren Port hat ssh- oder rsync-Server starten und mit rsync rüberziehen, oder http-Server starten und mit wget runterladen. Zumindest ist es bei mir über http einiges schneller.Zum Vergleich: 1 Gbit Leitung zum Übertragen von 96000Gbit macht fast 67 Stunden

@pla many phones showed up a selection menu or a notification so you can choose if it should do charge, mtp or mass storage. That was short after connection, about two seconds, so much faster than waiting for mtp to connect. I don't know if this is still the case.In the end, when you found a data cable, you could test.#usb #smartphone

@cyCertainly here it is not the case, but once I opened a small #bluetooth speaker there was one line in wave form like in your picture, in total 3cm or so long. I think that was the #antenna.

@stux for me the Fediverse works almost like Facebook worked in 2010. I sign up at a server, I follow people, I see their posts. Additionally hashtags (topics) exist here that can be searched and followed.At that time I was new in my class. Classmates asked if I had Facebook. They created my first email address, made friend requests to 70 pupils in my year, they approved and we saw each others posts.In 2015 I deleted the account because of a significant terms of service update.

My grandfather fled from eastern Germany and was registered as Soviet Zone Refugee.On my mothers side: my great-gandfather was a prisoner of war, shot in the knee in capture but survived.A piece of land was forcibly sold and an ancestor put all the money into WW1 bonds.I have personally seen a german nazi era birth certificate of one of my ancestors with a swastika on it.
