Someone posted a question which included the #krita hashtag about when Krita or GIMP and so would support "AI". I won't reply or mention them because they were anonymous people without a bio, but the answer is:* if there are libraries with a GPLv3+ compatible license* if there are models trained only on publicly available images, instead of pirated copyrighted images (Krita is GPLv3, so yeah, we support copyright _and_ copyleft).* if our users actually need or want AI assistance.

#TodaysAchievements * I fixed the home network to the best of my ability (I can ssh into my desktop from my laptop again, so my sound system works again).* I managed to reach the GP's practice and got the t-blocker shot, despite being drenched down to my bra by a storm. (It's a very cold feeling, having a wet bra on your tits facing a strong wind.)* I cooked dinner (self-invented Indonesion-like sateh ajam with crushed peanuts roasted together with the sateh).

Not sure if it's the worst, but one of the worst things of being estranged from your children because they don't accept you for being trans is not knowing whether you're a granny already or not.

@Quinnypig I hereby, as the #krita maintainer give everyone officially the right to verb "krita" and say "the image was krittered."Or "kritaed" or whatever you may make of it: krita is a trademark, and you can play with it to your heart's content. (Except for selling counterfied spyware laden versions in app stores or on ebay.)

I've been with @LWN since -- I think 2003? I think it's the best, maybe only trustworthy, archive of what is going on in the open source/free software world, one that's been going for ages. I'm paying for my subscription.But I simply hate how much the commentariat has dwindled to a small number of extremely contentious people who don't seem to be interested in the issues at hand, but only in catching flies of each other.I think I might have blocked every regular commenter by now.

@davidrevoy I really wish we could make building Krita easier... For the Qt6 port, I'm actually using only distribution packages to see how far I can get. But working with the upstread Qt project can be really hard, and we need sooooo many patches to make Qt work well on all four platforms we support!

@davidrevoy Yeah, and this time... Apparently there was nobody left who remembers the days when Qt was supposed to make C++ as accessible to non-computer scientists as Java, and it's gotten seriously c-plus-plussified.

Frunsi wanted permission to package #krita with their Android art tablet. There's no problem with that, of course! They sent me one of their tablets, and I have to say, I'm quite impressed. Feels nice, great screen, really complete -- even comes with gloves, a manual, a spare battery and more:

I was wondering why my wonderful Eizo monitor was getting so dim. I thought maybe its panel was degrading after many years of work.But no... I got a new KDE Plasma version and suddenly there's a screen brightness control in the systray.And apparently, it's set to 30% by default.I only noticed it because I wanted to change the sound volume and mis-clicked 😞 #kde_plasma

So, I got kicked out of mastdon.art for being trans. One fosstodon.org scandal got resolved because its people realized that deleting posts not in English because they were reported was going to lead to censorship -- because anyone could report a post for that reason if they disagreed with the content. Now there's another scandal.But now? Where is this white lesbian trans woman who likes to cook and maintains a major free and open source application to go? I'd like _some_ stability, please.

When I was in high school, a bunch of kids pulled me into a dark corner, beat me up and splashed hot chocolate fresh from the vending machine over me. Not an unusual occurence, back in the eighties. Those things happened, at least at my school. Not just to me.Then a teacher came along, shoed the perps away and told me to clean myself up, and then come back and clean the place up.That's what I am reminded of most when I read about the UK hight court verdict about trans women.
