@fluxx @somnius Did you read Stallman's actual texts yourself? Relying on 3rd parties is a sure way to get sucked into a lie.It works like this everywhere: here, in politics, in academia, in marketing. Relying on mediated, rather than primary discourse is a sure way to get bamboozled.People usually project meaning onto things, rather than interpret meaning. We shall be aware of this. That's how propaganda's born in all spheres of life.Incurious people always kill nuance.

There's now a #freesoftware automation bot, that those interested in #trading #crypto can use to buy and sell automatically, depending on configurable parameters of when the currency is low, or high. Cool! #btc #eth https://github.com/MatejLach/bnc-trading-bot

@deusfigendi @Rob_T_Firefly I think there are some podcast hosts/clients that implement https://webmonetization.org, which at least, is a decentralized standard, for example: https://podlibre.org/castopod-supports-web-monetization/

@deusfigendi @Rob_T_Firefly Another option could be for something like @Castopod (which also federates), WriteFreely (that also now supports WebMonetization), and @peertube to also implement https://interledger.org/rfcs/0027-interledger-protocol-4 in addition, in order to give people more options of how to give to creators...

@Castopod Quick question about Castopod's #ActivityPub implementation: What are ActivityPub Object(s) named in Castopod? Are they an Object type, like the default, or does the Object type carry a special name in Castopod, such as ... Episode ?Thanks for the info.

Somebody framed the issue of #cancelculture as that there really is not a cancel culture, but rather the cancellation of culture. Of course, with that we really need to also think about what is culture.

@adamasnemesis Perhaps. Through I think this really depends on who uses it in what context. For example indigenious people could, I feel rightly say that they had their culture cancelled by colonizers. Thus, the cancellation of their culture. It is very different from the right wing view, that their 'judeo-christian culture' is being cancelled, which is nonsensical.

Genuine #question: does there exist some analysis, an article, or a paper, directly analyzing the claims made in the original #Bitcoin #BTC whitepaper and looking at whether they make sense (are sound/plausable)?Please link any such articles, links, PDFs, podcasts, or whatever you know of bellow. I am thinking about pieces that may be thinking about what could the actual/intended purpose of Bitcoin be in this regard... i.e. who does it serve: The people, banks, intelligence agencies, etc?Thx

Hot take: with so many people joining, #moderation across #Mastodon instances should get a little bit more considerate and less impulsive. Dealing with a lot of new moderation requests necessitates extra deliberation and nuance, not the necessity of an immediate, impulsive decision making just for the sake of reducing workload. This is hard to do, I know, and so #instance #admins deserve extra support from their users especially at this time. But let's be considerate and not harsh with reports.

@simon But were the results actually relevant in terms of comparing the artists? All I can see from that screenshot is the artists and their works being listed out, so the relevance of the results to the search query still seems kind of low on Bing anyway.
