Lego City displayFrom the Henry Ford Museum. Each year MichLUG does a display, slightly different from prior years. This year was quite a fun build with the Fisher Theatre and Gojira making an appearance.

"The President" trainIt seems like every time I go to Henry Ford Museum I catch something new. The pictured train has a "cow catcher" in the front, and I always picture's them as being made of metal. This one is clearly wood. I will note this on any future cow catchers I see.Yes, POTUS actually rode on this train.

Gonna celebrate new year with the inlaws tonight. We probably wouldn't stay super late but my wife's sister and her husband will be there. They are DINKs (with ubiquitous fur baby) and likely to want to party until the stroke of midnight. It will be loud. Most of the people coming do not have indoor voices. I enjoy quiet. My goal is to start the new year out with a bit of grace and try really hard not to look miserable. I will however end the year by complaining about it here. 😁

Violence VoyagerMy kids were playing "random roulette" on Zorox dot to and came across this gem. We were horrified but could not look away. Good heavens it was the most uncomfortable and horrifying thing I've watched in years, and that includes Made In Abyss.For the record, my "kids" are actually adults, all >= 19yo.

Installed a new sump pump My basement started slowly flooding today. The culprit? A dead sump pump, pictured. Two hours of bailing, a trip to Home Depot and $200 later I've installed a new pump and it's working great. Behold, I have successfully adulted.

Woooooo! Remember, if you don't know the answer to a question the answer is "I don't know, but here's how I would find out". I don't know your field, but in my experience interviewing people the ability to not be flummoxed by something you don't know goes a long way.
