@EC_DIGIT I wonder if the evaluation criteria will put #OpenSource solutions on an equal footing with other more conventional market approaches.

@webmink @carlmalamud The implications of this are huge.Could this mean the standards organizations will need to have a different business model? Most likely so.Will they change to something like #W3C or like #IETF?#ISO #IEEE #ECMA #ETSI

@richlitt @kfogel is also researching #ClosedForkWarning Specifically the "delayed open source publication" #DOSP movement which is also a fake #OpenSource fork.

@tante @hook I suppose that's waiting for its day in court...Until then, those using Copilot *or any other code generator ai* should consider their code is now under the AGPLv3 license.

@mmu_man @aral @forteller @lightweight @eff @Framasoft Exactly, it shouldn't take much effort to contact one of those providers and asking for their support. And even if most of the tools you named are European, there should exist a US-based organisation that hosts those or similar projects.Does anyone know of organisations in the US, non-profit or not?

@aral,While I do understand your frustration, a negative message is... negative. There's no sympathy for that, and the real message will not carry forward. It would be much more interesting to petition IBM, RedHat, Canonical, Suse.com and others for a stronger support for a11y initiatives. And by that I mean *money for developers* (grants, scholarships, whatever).#a11y #OpenSource #Sustainability #Community #justBeNice

@silverpill **CORRECTION**The library is a subset inside the mitra project and does not seem to have the payment logic inside (not there's anything wrong with it, but many people prefer to be alerted to that). It should be noted that it would make more sense to extract the library and maintain it independendly.#fediverse #ActivityPub #SoftwareDevelopment #OpenSource

@silverpill Corrected post, thank you @mariusor .My original post was not an objection on the mitra project itself, only that it had a component which some might find unsuitable.I also don't like to juge or promote libraries without the full context, so was drawn to the top of the project and confused lib with proj.
