@matrix I don't have any solid reasons, but I would go with the Pixel 4.

@matrix I've picked up several 64 GB phones for people I work with. No one has run out of space. I'll admit though that their usage might be different than yours. None are really tech savvy. Our biggest issue has been streaming video on shared data.

@QWxleA yeah, it was really bad. I run Linux and it was ok for some development, but Google Maps was too heavy duty.

It's gone live. All access to the facility has been funneled through the room with a thermal scanner. All other access points are not only locked, but completely disabled. Now I'm bracing for the week of, "Which door can I leave though tho?!"

@sjw @lanodan where I work runs production 24*7*365. Things blowing up on Christmas is a very real possibility. No fun, but it's not fun for the guys there either.

Almost immediately as the next crew arrived, I was alerted that this system just isn't working. It doesn't work and everyone is just being let in.This morning the problems were obvious. The calibration heat source was turned away from the camera, towards the wall. On top of that, the internal connection to the power jack was snapped from the PCB.A quick solder job and reorientation got it running again. But why did they break it? Now I have to lock it down.#covid #COVID19 #thermal

@l0wk3y @shebang @p I used a couple of these to beam some internet down a hill about 3/4 mile. Not inconspicuous, but 25/25 is a lot better than dialup and they are happy.

Automating and administering data from an iPad -> Service -> API <- Local Server -> Network shares, email, extra processing etc is a lot of fun. The more it's used, the more it's refined and it's just a good time.Actually booting up the iPads, installing the apps, and locking them down is lame.

Last week I whipped together code to watch through the thermal camera. This worked decently enough, but was hacky as shit so I did a little refactoring and polishing. Completely broke it. Not the right references anymore. Wtf? It was missing ".desktop" in my .csproj file.I hate Microsoft.

Converting batches of png files to mp4. Time consuming above all else. Luckily the process is now automated for future snapshots.

@Mundon this is how I felt with Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala. By the time 10.04 was released I had already moved on to other distros, and I've never had that feeling since.

@Mundon I was just thinking about this too. I liked the splash animation during boot. Just a black screen with a white Ubuntu logo in the center that dimmed and brightened.Back then I had also discovered Compiz or Beryl or something. I thought the blingy effects were amazing compared to the Windows XP experience I came from.
