@stux I had a similar experience with LinkedIn and my resume last time I was passing around links to it. Popped up a login wall the second (and any subsequent) time any client IP asked for it.

But, they were evil. Even if you happen to be descended from them. They did a definitively evil thing, and it was a defining choice of their lives. Everyone knew that the war was about continuing and entrenching slavery. More than any modern war, it was feasible for conscripts to escape service, either by paying or by running west.I guarantee that every person reading this has some evil ancestor. Get over yourself, JD. https://bsky.app/profile/patriottakes.bsky.social/post/3lrdwqkhmv22x

@rl_dane The guy behind XLibre also has a history of anti-vax conspiracist ranting on the linux kernel mailing list

Anyone who took this long to split with Trump is untrustable. They have a history of spectacularly poor judgment mixed with moral turpitude and they failed to recognize their own error for about a decade. It’s nice to have a vote change and good to have someone intimate with the MAGA mindset trying to persuade his former co-religionists, but anyone who stuck with Trump past the first quarter of 2017 has a lot of eager evil to atone for. https://beige.party/@Lana/114711292686762490

@clacke Yes and no… Instead of the overhead of containers, my 'jump' machines bind specific keys to the ssh commands that do the specifically authorized next hops and (where possible) restrict to specific client IPs. The OS of those machines are only accessible over a VPN or (for some VMs) a tightly secured web interface that has VNC over WebSockets inside a private network to their virtual consoles. #infosec #bastion #jumphost#ssh #sshd #OpenSSH

@Nonilex Let’s not go overboard in defense of acetaminophen. It is NOT “about the safest drug in the world,” but rather has the highest overdose risk of any OTC medication. It’s responsible for 40% of all liver failure cases in the US. It kills more than one American per day. Of course, there is no coherent argument for it being a cause of autism.

@0xabad1dea I read it as saying that it runs open source models, not that it is itself open source, but in any case, there's nothing that prevents developers of open source software from charging for it, particularly when the platform allows only limited user control of software installation (e.g. iOS)

@NanoRaptor All of my leg bones have snapped and my spine has a disabling lumbar dislocation, for I am now 10’5", which is beyond the usable scale of the human form factor. You will be hearing from my lawyers.

@solarbird The East Wing also covered the main parts of the underground emergency bunker complex. They are probably skimming a lot for gilding the whole underground 200k sq.ft.

Arby’s Steak Nuggets failed to disappoint. The sauce they bundled is a bit heavy for me but cut well with their more vinegary “Arby’s Sauce” and a dash or three of Cholula. Their Deep Fried Turkey Club was not bad, but I would have rather had more of those steak nuggets.

@CliftonR I don’t actually do this anywhere but I do deal with qemu/KVM/libvirt a lot (via OpenNebula) which I understand to also be the backend for virtmanager. The functionality you are looking for is referred to as “device passthrough” in the documentation I’ve seen.

Any #FreeBSD sysadmins out there running #Bastille jails with multiple interfaces? Or any sort of jail with multiple interfaces? I was going to try out Bastille rather than old-fashioned manual "Thick" jail like the ones I’ve set up before because I've never done multiple interfaces or thin jails and Bastille seemed like a good way to do that. Except that it isn't working. At least not in the way I think the docs imply... Of course I've opened an issue: https://github.com/BastilleBSD/bastille/issues/1440

I greatly appreciate when a developer confirms that my tentative bug report (e.g. "maybe I’m running it wrong…" ) is legitimate. I’m NOT a total idiot!#Sysadminnery
