@grammargirl Sending good vibes! My one suggestion, for what it's worth, is that before erasing & restoring the internal hard drive, I'd recommend creating a new installation/restoration (or bootable clone) of that drive on an EXTERNAL SSD drive. First, so you have a bootable backup. And second, so you can test the system from there to see if that takes care of whatever glitchy problems you've been having with the iMac.
