@EU_Commission That's great (really) but it would be even better if you'd legally mandate an easy to use, simple, standardised form, (hopefully to include a summary reject button for cookies and a summary reject button for 'legitimate' interest). All sites should be forced to use the same standard form. Should also mandate browsers have a 'GDPR privacy policy' settings (cookies & legitimate interest, etc), so the user's choice can be set once and each site uses that policy, rather than the draining randomly styled pop-up we currently get.#gdpr #privacy #privacymatters

@eff forgive me if I've misunderstood EFF's place in the world. Is it an internationally facing organization or just a US facing org. If it's international, then could I politely ask that when writing about laws and news, that you acknowledge the scope and context of each article or post. US not= World. If it's US only, then my apologies, but a small acknowledgement of that fact would be useful for us international followers. Peace!

@EU_Commission get your hands OFF end to end encryption and certificate trust. Anyone with mal-intent & half a brain can get around the browser restrictions you propose but for everyone else, it's a charter for unjustified snooping and an opportunity for fraud, corruption and incompetence.

@brewsterkahle is there a market for a filter that adds random, minor & unpredictable pitch shift & noise, to phone calls from un-whitelisted numbers, so voice capture/training isn't possible?

@brewsterkahle what's the audio equivalent of Gaussian blur (and can it be filtered out)?

@ChrisMayLA6 Starmer needs to have the courage to confront the extreme (and generally fact free) right wing media, like the Daily Mail.1. No foreign/non-dom ownership2. Lies/mistakes/distortions must be retracted on the same page and with the same prominence as the original.3. Any assertion outside of an editorial must provide easy (one click/short URL) access to the full data being quoted or the foundation of the article/headline.

@futurebird @dahukanna I had to teach my late mum all about this. I had her on Linux (I don't use & wouldn't support Windows) and the file browser is sooo much better than on Windows. The interesting problem was explaining how directory storage is so limiting compared to tagging (though both can be used in parallel). She used to put her photos in arbitrarily named folders that could never describe all they needed to and I'd ask her to a)put them in a year/month/day folder hierarchy and then b) use her photo app (Digikam) to tag the photos. Then she'd have the benefit of a logical and consistent file storage AND tagging that would allow multiple ways to subset the photos irrespective of storage location. I think the same would apply to other file types, though perhaps the nesting should be project oriented rather than date.Interesting to think about a Git storage model too?
