Watching Twitter fail into nothingness is like watching and old friend slowly lose their mental capacites. It hurts, this friend had some problems, but they helped spread the word about artists, independent journalists, mom and pop shops... Now they just sit in their recliner in the dark, wondering why their friends don't call anymore.

The more I think about it, the more I realize just how careless and selfish my parents really were. I was struggling for most of my childhood and they did absolutely nothing. They were more concerned about how I reflected on them than if I was actually okay. They never even bothered to try to figure out what was wrong. It just goes to show that money can't fix emotional abandonment.

I find it super hard to give a shit about Trump's indictment. He's a pompous 'rich' white cishet dude, he's going to find a way out of it. What I'm more preoccupied with is the fact that every single day more of this country becomes inaccessible to trans people. Hell a bunch of states are jumping on the "transition for 26+ only".

If 26 year olds shouldn't be allowed to make medical decisions for themselves (according to Florida's idiotic medical board), why are they allowed to rent apartments, own and operate vehicles, own and operate firearms, hold jobs of material consequence. Why are 21+ allowed to smoke and drink? If we're going to reset the bar to 26 for making rational decisions, this should be for everything... unless it's not about age and has everything to do with hating trans people.

The GOP think that 12 year old girls can consent to marriage, but a 26 year old can't know themselves well enough to know they're trans.They actively enable christians fucking children, but have the gall to accuse trans people of being predators. The whole fucking party is sick.

@Remittancegirl @Eetschrijver Yeah, this is 100% the precursor steps to elimination. It starts by making it impossible for new trans people to transition, it then leads to making it impossible for trans people to exist in public legally, and then leads to concentration and extermination. If we don't stop this now, we're headed for actual genocide. For context, the first laws under Hitler were focused on making it harder for Jewish people to participate in daily life.

Florida is actively trying to classify anything relating to queer folk as "adult" subject matter. This law aims to prevent children from being admitted to any kind "adult" live performance. The logical extension is that they're trying to end pride celebrations, and likely end queer support groups for anyone under 18 (and likely to increase to 26 like they're doing with trans care).https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1438
