@nicole I use it like a Pensieve (if you'll forgive *that* reference) - My ADHD brain keeps working overtime, and among other things, it grows my fictional world and the stories it contains even when I'm consciously doing other things. It was so overwhelming that I realised I'd need to deliberately forget it all and then quit writing... or go mad. Writing makes up for more than 50% of my identity, so the prospect was heartbreaking. Then I discovered Obsidian, and I didn't have to quit.

I've let it stew a bit, and I think that the solution might be to #research on an as-needed basis, but I need a better system for identifying when I actually need to research, rather than my current method of diving into google in the middle of a #storydev session.

One issue with being unproductive and unpartnered is not having anyone to spank me for the transgression, because asking my carer or a family member to do so would be inappropriate, and in the former case, would result in a firmly worded letter about workplace harassment, even if said harassment would technically be directed at me.#gmfjournal #amnotwriting

@nicole Letting go of the guilt of not making art or music or any other content is key for me, so letting myself focus on one creative outlet - giving myself that permission - has been huge.
