I found my old AIM and ICQ names/passwords!In clear text in a file under ~/.purple/And the password to a svn repository I used to use somewhere in .svn or .mercury... Also in plain text.I'm trying not to be sarcastic here, since the linux on my poor server is like 15 years old, but damn.

Found a TRS-80 Model 1 emulator with source and recompiled it under modern RISC OS. I'm not sure it's completely working. Seems to have a couple of issues. Rather they're because the OS has changed out from under it, or they were bugs left unfixed in the old days, I dunno.I do know it didn't come with any useful docs.😞#TRS80 #Emulator #RiscOS #Pi2

@robert588 @SDF Interesting. Much nicer looking than my 912C terminal.The keyboard is totally a combination of both models of 912 keyboards, though. Its got the typewriter style keyboard of the 912C (shift-2 is @) with the extra function keys of the bit-paired keyboard of the 912B (shift-2 is ")

@futurebird When we were in the first grade (1980? 81?) the lefty guy who eventually became my best friend was being forced to be righty by our teacher (who left me so traumatized that I nearly had ulcers!)Fortunately for him, his dad was also a teacher, and came down on her like a ton of bricks!

@foone @alexr @brouhaha @regehr When I was working on a CS degree in the early to mid 90's there was a lot of drama about this. The CS profs said real CS is mostly math and exactly which language is used isn't really important (*).Non-CS majors who just needed a CS credit or needed to know one language to do their stuff in just wanted something available and sane.My fellow CS nerds were all for C and C++. I got distracted and wanted to learn all the languages!!!(1/?)
