@hn50 I wonder if someday the Fediverse will face this sort of thing....

@kyle Sorry to hear that! But I'm glad you're staying as an advisor. Good luck with the book. When it is out I want a copy, it sounds interesting and like it could be very helpful to me!

@kyle If it moves and it shouldn't, use duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. So I've heard lol

@apps I was seeing "%s" show up in some profiles' menus when viewing a profile after using the "GPS" button. Is this related? It did not cause a crash, but I have a video if you want it.

@apps Some of the replies to your post are helping me improve my blocklist ;) I hadn't noticed poster.place yet. Though I'm not a proponent of transgenderism by any stretch

@zudn @Aslanmane Yeah, Fn is usually part of the #keyboard itself — most keyboards (Mac computers are an exception) can't even tell the computer when Fn is pressed. Fn is just for having more "keys" than physical buttons on the keyboard.Note that many full-size keyboards do not need an Fn key.

@kyle Nice job! Has to be a bit cool to drive the non-power tools you used back to where you got them in the car you fixed with them ;)(I finally got the The Best of Hack and / sysadmin book by the way :) I like it!)

@ActionRetro When I think of the IBM PC I always imagine the box sideways with the monitor on top. But I'm a youngster going off of pics I see online 🤷

I find it funny. I'm not active in either Fosstodon or There's Life, but I feel like I interact with users from those servers a lot. I love how the Fediverse can make you have a sense of location, where some servers feel like local neighborhoods.

@strypey @mho @tangle_news @feed @index @index @feed @index @feed @index @index @index @index @index @index @index @index @index @index @index @index @index Given that the server is an important identifying part of the handle (since users with the same username would appear the same without it) most Fedi clients do not remove the server part of the handle unless the viewer is on the same server. So it isn't a big deal to change the username, I'm frankly just glad to find more news orgs on Fedi.

This can't be happening. #Commodore is back?? https://www.commodore.net/product-page/commodore-64-ultimate-basic-beige-batch1"Commodore has returned from a parallel timeline where tech stayed optimistic, inviting, and human.""The first official Commodore 64 in over 30 years is here - a faithful recreation of the original motherboard on FPGA hardware."I know this news is a few weeks old, but I'm just discovering this. This is the kind of thing I dream about.#Commodore64 #C64 #retrocomputing #smallcomputing #SID
