It was a cold and windy day, unusual for North Texas this time of year, but at least 600 of us gathered in this very red suburban town to protest on #HandsOff Day. I only saw three drivers flip us off, far lower than I was expecting. I told myself if the count reached five we'd stop for ice cream on the way home. Alas.

As we were leaving, the family near us also packed up to leave. Their young teen who was in a wheelchair, holding a sign about protecting Medicaid, thanked everyone around for coming out. It about broke my heart and I was ready to declare "You have my sword!". #HandsOff
