@jrballesteros05 You didn't say Red hat specifically, but your post was, in essence:I will get rid of companies that tried to get rid of GPL and GNU.The only company you named was Red Hat.You see where we lost you?If this is some weird stance for Stallman, you could've just said so instead of trying to come up with shit against a company that doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

@reto @jrballesteros05 Oh hum the short answer is, Chucho is on the stallman side, and since Red Hat denounced Stallman and asked for his resignation from the FSF, Red Hat is probably the devil now in that story.I no longer take part in these discussions as it's a moot point where everyone talks past each other and nothing gets fixed or changed.

@xgqt Static vs dynamic by themselves aren't bad or good. They are preferences that can be beneficial or detrimental, depending on the environment you work in.Maybe Rust is just not for you mate.

I recently dropped Facebook, but I have to keep messenger around for the family, where we regularly chat and video.If I wanted to replace it with another chat software, which one would you recommend?It needs to be simple, it needs to be both mobile and desktop, it needs to be able to do chat and video and images.

@freemo @aito I like the idea of a protocol outside of the web that keeps it simple and clean. Gemini is just something like markdown if you don't consider what it's trying to do and consider only what it shows you.I would suggest a skim read of their faq; it goes pretty well into the reasons why an alternative protocol (like Gopher or Gemini) might be a good idea going forward!https://gemini.circumlunar.space/docs/faq.gmi

@freemo @aito Oh right now in it's infancy, I doubt it would provide much for you personally unless you are a very specific type of geek haha. I just wanted to point out to not dismiss it outright and remember it down the road. It might be a small thing now, but it could grow into something truly special :)
