@tilvids @mozilla @nextcloud I think there's a bad potential for large corporations to create more walled gardens at this early stage where they can easily each get more subscribers than the entire Fediverse.If an Apple or a Microsoft decides to make each user account also an account in their own walled garden with selective federation, lots of people will come into the fediverse thinking it's only "outlook.com" or "apple.social" with no reason to explore further. 1/2

@lowqualityfacts Cats with a particular thyroid sickness (cancer?) are treated with radioactive iodine. Cats don't live long enough to be affected seriously by the radiation, but their humans (especially children) have to limit their exposure from the radioactive cats until it wears off.I just learnt this from the awesome #skepticsguidetotheuniverse podcast.

@cjd This isn't what happened. The #EndSARS protests were for a different reason, as well as why protesters were shot at. Granted the lockdown did increase frustration and some local government officials hoarding did not help matters.

@cjd "SARS" is "Special Anti-Robbery Squad", a police task force that regularly extorts, brutalizes & murders innocent young people. Hence the protests, & also about poorly thought out government policies. The military were deployed when peaceful and well organized protesters occupied a lucrative toll plaza in a posh part of economic capital. The food aid was mostly from domestic sources, and was being distributed widely albeit slowly. The #EndSARS hashtag is quite informative.

@rysiek It seems we're losing email as universal communication medium. Google, Yahoo and Microsoft email servers have been randomly and quietly rejecting emails from smaller hosts for a while now.I have one of my servers send uptime emails regularly to a Yahoo account. It has worked for over 5 years until it suddenly started being rejected by Yahoo's servers early this year.Error message: "Messages from * temporarily deferred due to unexpected volume or user complaints"
