As it turns out, incorporating #nvim into a home manager configuration is pretty straightforward. I told hm to enable #neovim, added initialization for lazy.nvim to the extraLuaConfig setting, added gcc to the extraPackages setting, and pulled my entire ~/.config/nvim/lua folder in with “home.file” + its recursive attribute… and that’s it. Lazy & Mason are still managing everything else and all configuration is still in #Lua. https://github.com/genebean/dots/pull/335[ #Nix #NixOS ]

@rssblue nice! The one request I have is something in the format of a flyer that I can print off and hand people… I want them to see enough to be interested in pulling out a phone or computer to learn more.

@dovydas @rssblue Thank you for doing the hard stuff! I was at dinner last week with friends and there was a musician performing who did a mix of covers and his own music. After one of his songs he said we could find it on all the streaming platforms and all I could think about was the comparison @ainsleycostello shared of what she receives from those places vs #value4value. I love this stuff but suck at verbally promoting 😁

Progress on my latest endeavor: I’m building a #k8s setup centered around #k3s, the #Cilium CNI, and the #Linkerd service mesh. My goal is to run this atop an immutable #Linux distro with #SELinux enabled. Sadly, the Cilium bits don’t work with @fedora #CoreOS without disabling SELinux even without Cilium’s Envoy daemonset. Barring some breakthrough in figuring out why that is, I’m planning to try @opensuse #MicroOS next. Its use of btrfs is quite appealing.

I’ve got these bits running in a vm now so next is to add #Multus CNI, kube-vip, & something to provide for load balancer services. I’m going to check out the option in Cilium and see if it’s a good alternative to #MetalLB. Once that’s sorted, it’s going to be time for #ArgoCD & the #Nginx ingress (ingress-nginx). After that I have a several pieces of the puzzle to finish researching and assembling as a PoC.

Anyone know of a #SelfHosted alternative to #Facebook Groups that would be suitable for a neighborhood’s residents to post on and use to stay in contact? At least around here, Facebook Groups seem to be the norm and #Nextdoor also gets used a lot, but I’d rather run something than use either.

The day has come where a “problem” I foresaw has come to fruition: there’re now enough #value4value #podcasts in my playlist that I can no longer afford to stream as many sats/minute as I’d like to.
