Hello there, Raspberry Pi CM0. EDAtec sent this to me from China. Unfortunately you can't get these anywhere else! It's basically a Pi Zero 2 W, but in SoM form. And it has castellated edges so it can be pick 'n placed right onto PCBs.

Now that Nvidia GPUs run on the Raspberry Pi, I want to see if they're good for Jellyfin transcoding (e.g. take your old 3060 and throw it on a Pi for a little #homelab media server...). https://www.jeffgeerling.com/blog/2025/benchmarking-nvenc-video-transcoding-on-pi

@txt_file I'm a bit jaded by working with the Nvidia drivers, which don't even support the 10 series anymore :(I never bought an Nvidia card until the 30 series existed, but because of my YT stuff, I upgraded to 40 series last year on my streaming PC. I don't see a reason to go 50 series at all, though.

Wind storms last week set in motion disaster recovery plans at NIST, and almost took out a primary time reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRB7pjRVVkII'm sure the folks at NIST running the Internet's time clocks were feeling the pressure, and they handled it well.

For the last video of the year, I tested Dell's "Dell Pro Max with GB10" (rolls right off the tongue, that).Dell sent two and mentioned they aren't gaming boxes, so maybe don't focus on that in a review. So guess what I did first ;)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjRKvKC4ntw

Good deal on DeskPi Super6c at Micro Center. I'm guessing it's not the biggest seller in store.

@shironeko Sheesh, following random links in different threads, I've seen conversations on Mastodon (a number of instances), Bluesky, Twitter(X), a Teensy forum post, HN...It's honestly hard to follow and the context makes little sense still.

Hosting websites was so much easier back when I didn't have to consider AI scrapers, malicious actors, etc.It was more fun getting /.'ed and seeing things fall over than having to be able to handle a terabit of traffic in a sudden deluge multiple times a month.
