@stux There is a reason I don't talk to my parents anymore. I could list the reasons, but it would take several posts with a very heavy CW.In short, my parents are paranoid, bigoted, racist, Christo-fascists.The fact that I am none of these things is a fucking miracle because they've always been an evil, ugly people. I can see why people want to leave Mastodon. Since one of my posts has gone viral, I have had people tell me what is wrong with it in so many different ways. I’ve been bitched at for using the wrong hashtags. I’ve been bitched at because I didn’t suggest the use of CW‘s.Totally 👏 not 👏 the 👏 fucking 👏 point 👏 of 👏 the 👏post.I’ve been having to block so many people who want to gatekeep, police, and God knows what else. This shit, right here, is why people leave Mastodon.

@lanodan @stux Eh, a car being stolen is a minor annoyance for my dad. He could buy another one outright for cash without batting an eye. But for the average person, it would have a huge financial impact.
