here's what i've been obsessing over for 2+ weeks now. K. kindly sold me their 2016 black friday "New" Nintendo 3DS (non-XL!) and i've been goin nuts updating its hax and curating a library (Nintendolife.com reviews are invaluable)the state of 3DS custom firmware (CFW)? outstanding. obviously piracy is a huge selling point, but even if you abstain CFW has great benefits like running games at the New 3DS's 4x clockspeed, which took one game i'm playing from ~15fps to a solid 30. amazing. CFW is invaluable.

wirecutter's Best EBook Reader article is awfully surface level and doesn't cover 75% of the factors I'd want to know about :psyduck: it only mentions DRM as something you're gonna have to live with (untrue) so ~better choose which ecosystem you wanna be locked into wisely~as usual the reader comments take them to task and provide more valuable takes. I've been unimpressed with WC advice before but this article is objectively low quality.

@mngrif i appreciate your enthusiasm :)i'm fairly good at mastering retro jank (system shock 1, no problem) and can't not suck in 100% of all available content (to my detriment sometimes, i burn out far before even getting to the main storyline of open-world games)thanks for the suggestions and site rec.
