Has anyone here ever traveled to Tokyo and got a travel-SIM?I'm trying not to get scammed, and all online resources seem to be *very* biased towards some products.

So, the people of Hyrule don't seem to be surprised that there are suddenly a bunch of sky islands floating above the ground.AFAIK the story only introduced the Zonai, but not the existence of the sky islands. There are some threads on reddit arguing that Hylia was capable of hiding the sky islands in Skyward Sword, but that doesn't explain why the people aren't surprised by them. Is this a plot hole, or am I missing something?#Zelda #TOTK

I did a thing! ✨Some people don't see the value of using a password manager and keep sharing their streaming service passwords with their friends and relatives *in plain text*.This is an attempt to simplify the process of sending encrypted passwords for non-technical users, using local encryption with temporary #PGP keys.https://sendpasswords.net/I'd be happy about any feedback and suggestions. Also, feel free to share this with your friends and relatives!#security #privacy #encryption

I bought a cheap soldering iron and a multimeter to learn more about some #electronics. Used a Bluetooth speaker that stopped working a while ago as a test subject. Turns out the wires of the charging port came loose and dangled around in the case. Despite my terrible soldering job, it was an easy fix! This repair alone covered the price of that soldering iron. And I learned a bunch!#repairingiscaring

Instances planning to defederate with #Threads is why nobody takes the #Fediverse seriously.Threads is not the first instance being blocked because moderator x doesn't like the owner of that instance. This could've been a big opportunity to make ActivityPub mainstream, but we keep gatekeeping our bubbles.

I'm not for or against any party here, I'm just tired of this "them" vs. "us" thinking. The Fediverse is an open place, so let big corps capitalize on it. It's an inevitability.

@neotoy it's awesome, but it's a bubble. And if we learned one thing from social media, it's that bubbles are a bad thing.

#TIL: Opening the microwave door before the timer runs out is bad for your microwave. There's a high voltage running through the door so when you open it, the microwave immediately turns off. When you open it early, there might be sparks on the contact switches, which might damage it.(I'm very guilty of this myself). 🥲

@realcaseyrollins I can see how people think Oppenheimer is boring. It's a lot of political talk. But I've rarely seen a movie that's so action-packed. It keeps a steady pace without any "useless" scenes.

A #DevOps engineer walks into a bar, puts the bartender in a #Docker container, puts #Kubernetes behind the bar, spins up 1000 bartenders and orders 1 beer.

@fedops yep, people still do this. My last encounter was with a large client that recently got hacked. In response, they shut down their internal VPN and forced people to remotely log in to physical machines in the office, yet they still send out credentials in round mails. All this time and money fighting their snakeoil security tarpits could've been spent educating their staff. Argh!
