@angristan I really am not an expert, but it seems that WebStorm supports "X over SSH," which seems to mean you can use WS on your computer from an SSH connection, easily (just execute the .sh file from the terminal in which the SSH connection is established).

Or rather, DID not ! (I still have to try it out)

@angristan I don't know if it's a matter of proxy or what, but my attempt to connect to the Linux server of my company with it failed... I'm disappointed

@switchingsocial I might be interested in installing LineageOS on my phone, to use Android without Google, but I also heard some people saying "this is so hard to install LineageOS" ; what's so complicated about it ? Is it like, installing Arch on a computer or something ?

@flab @switchingsocial @amolith @ninja Yeah, I found a lot of tutorials on the internet for the hard part of unlocking the bootloader, so I thought this should be doable ; is the risk to break something high, though ? Have you ever encountered any problem doing it ? How long is the process overall ?

@flab @switchingsocial @amolith @ninja Another question : have you ever had to get some specific apps from the Play Store, getting their APK or something ? I might need some apps, like for instance the one of public transports of my city, that I can't find anywhere else than the Google Play Store

@flab Thank you for such a complete answer ! I didn't know about Aurora Store, and that sounds awesome. There is something else I didn't know, do apps actually require Google Services to send push notifications ?

@khady It is fraud that makes transport companies install gates. If there is no fraud, they don't need to, and vice-versa :)

You people that #selfhost, could you help me with something ? Do you know if it is better (privacy and price wise) to have a static IP address, or rely on a dynamic DNS like #Cloudflare ? Cloudflare seems to be a go-to but I've seen a lot of cookies around from it, I'm not sure if it is quite trustworthy.Thoughts and experience ? ❤️#selfhosting #newbie #ddns
