Netflix's "The Fall of the House of Usher" is a lazy, woke sermon. Skip it.Following such masterful entries as "The Haunting of Hill House" and "Midnight Mass" (and even, to a lesser extent, "The Haunting of Bly Manor"), I thought that Mike Flanagan might have an unassailable hold over horror. I've yet to see the skillful layering of narratives and subversion of typical horror tropes, showcased in "The Haunting of Hill House" and "Midnight Mass," in any other miniseries or movie.I didn't see that in "The Fall of the House of Usher" either.Flanagan's latest horror entry is heavy on the sex and gore, and it's no wonder why: it clearly needed gimmicks to distract from a padded-out, pretentious story, culminating with a checklist of Leftist preaching.Be sure to center the LGBT+: Make the overmatched DA gay, and be sure he periodically reminds everyone of the impediments he faced as a consequence... but they can't be too consequential, since every enlightened modern youth must be a minimum of bisexual and promiscuous. Definitely don't weave homosexuality into a character's development, as with Sarah Gunning in "Midnight Mass;" just drop in that they're gay and move from there.Be sure to showcase racial diversity: Morally upstanding characters mustn't be white (excepting one woman). Oh, and ensure that there are plenty of supposedly mixed-race kids, even when it's not at all convincing. Who cares that T'Nia Miller, as competent as her acting may be, cannot convince anyone that her "Victorine" is the biological offspring of a man as lily-white as Bruce Greenwood's "Roderick."Make sure the ladies are the smart ones: Need someone to develop the next medical breakthrough? Good thing we have Victorine. Need a marketing guru? Good thing we have Camille. Need someone to be a savant with human psychology and computation and game theory and whatever else the script needs? Good thing we have Madeline. Oh, and let's be sure to have her put that sexist pig, Rufus Griswold (pictured), in his place.Oh, and lest we forget, note all the other "current thing" points: Abortion good, Supreme Court bad? Crowbar it in. Check. Global warming bad? Check. Big pharma bad? Check-ish. It's okay to hammer them on opioids, but absolutely do not mention certain "vaccines"... those are safe and effective, don't you know. Big donors bad? Check-ish, but only mention the dastardly Republican donors and politicians. Definitely don't mention, say, the Clintons, Larry Fink, George Soros, the Obamas, etc.And on that subject, make sure to mention Donald Trump (without uttering his Voldemort-like name, of course), as a black-hearted individual willing to enter into a Faustian pact... you know, to explain his success. Granted, that might contradict the talking point that he's successful on paper only, and that he's otherwise failed bigly in every endeavor, but observing Leftists won't notice that little detail."The Fall of the House of Usher" is a disaster to watch, though it's too high on its own supply to notice. Watching it is an experience akin to Griswold's death: you hope that there will be a merciful moment when Flanagan will relent to your pleas for something interesting to watch, but brick after brick of Leftist dogma utterly extinguishes that hope, leaving only blackness for black pills.Everything must obey "The Message."

Nope.Grievance culture is too pervasive. Anything that says, in effect, "stop comparing yourself to someone else and instead focus on what is fulfilling," will be dismissed as dated drivel wrapped in apologia. Women who embrace that message will be shunned regardless of how many SSRI's the women shunning are gulping down.

There is no greater argument for keeping the Electoral College in place than this.A national popular vote only makes sense if all states are playing by the same rules, actually offering the choices demanded. An anti-democratic state, such as Colorado, de-listing candidates or effectively stuffing ballots, is at least currently limited to it's Electoral representation. If the Electoral College goes away, there's every opportunity for anti-democratic states to strongly bias the national vote according to their banana republic demands. And make no mistake, Colorado will deem the 14th Amendment applies, even though Trump wasn't an officer, even though Trump wasn't convicted of insurrection via impeachment (which, by the way, renders current indictments null and void if we're actually paying attention to the Constitution), and even though charges of "insurrection" haven't even been brought against Trump. Colorado is that corrupt. Colorado has that much disdain for the Constitution.Trump will only appear on Colorado ballots if the Supreme Court slaps down Colorado's pre-determination.

There could actually be value in such a rigorous study, more as a translation from what was historically regarded as magical to contemporary understanding. For example, some "magic" brew to induce visions might be boiled down to specific psychedelics that could have extensions into modern therapies, or might explain why historical figures made some of their decisions. So it's probably not that...

Would you say the same thing if the Epstein client list leaked? You've been calling for this to be released for a while. Somebody stuck out their neck to do so. Why complain about that now?Let's also not forget that the police department in possession of the physical manifesto is refusing to confirm the leak's authenticity, meaning that whomever was commanding them to stay silent didn't just up and rescind that order. Oh, and there's the conspicuous censorship on Facebook and Google. This probably wasn't a planned leak, but actually a genuine leak.Sure, the leak revealed information that anyone with functional gray matter already knew, but the leak demolished whatever deniability may have been possible... deniability required to uphold certain sacred narratives. That's pretty inconvenient to those who often utilize diversions.

First, the DoJ would have to investigate, and there's no way they'll do that. Even if they did, their investigator would make sure to fail to find anything actionable.

TDS. TDS is the prerequisite required for TWS, acting to amplify devotion to Trump as TDS'ers double down.Think that it's a coincidence that the more (obviously politicized) indictments that are levied against Trump, the more his appeal grows? People can see that TDS'ers are willing to demolish whichever norms or long-standing legal theories might impede their destruction of Trump, and they can see that TDS'ers are eager to lump in anyone questioning TDS agendas as MAGA scum. TDS'ers are, in essence, limiting options available to TDS dissenters to those that either lead to TWS outright, or at least sympathize with TWS.For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Ratchet down the TDS and TWS correspondingly diminish; keep pushing TDS (which is all that TDS'ers appear capable of), and TWS will just continue to grow.

In fairness, that analysis needs to be conducted for other forms of electricity production as well. As in, how much ore, oil, and steel go into a coal-fire plant or (probably even worse, in terms of inputs to build) a nuclear plant? The true requirements of building a windfarm (and solar, which is much weaker on the production side for a given area) often get swept under the rug, but if those costs still equate to something less than the counterparts they're intended to replace, then the "green" argument still holds water... at least, excluding considerations like persistence and reliability.

Maybe he doesn't want to consider how he may have been duped by the news sources to which he refers. As the saying goes, "it's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled." It has nothing to do with age; it has much more to do with ego.

Big heaping helpings of ThEmESsAge in "One Battle after Another."No wonder the access media is giving it a tongue bath, spouting off that it should be an Oscar winner and considered one of the most important movies of all time.https://www.imdb.com/title/tt30144839/
