It's funny how sometimes songs (or bit of songs) get stuck in your head. Over the last 24 hours I have had american pie (https://youtu.be/iX_TFkut1PM), hey jude (https://youtu.be/mQER0A0ej0M) and many other songs stuck in my head. What songs have got stuck in your head recently?#music #oldiesbutgoodies

@brandon it depends, if you can afford to and want to run it indefinitely then go ahead. If you just wanted to use it as example of something you can build then wait a couple of weeks (to have a good build-up of toots) then turn it off.

Inspired by @ndegruchy's post on why online coursework sucks, I decided to post about why online courses work for some people (like me). We all need a balance of in-person and online courses.https://gregoryhammond.ca/blog/why-online-courses-work-for-some-people/?ref=mastodonpostWhich do you prefer? Online or in-person courses.#100DaysToOffload #100DaysToBlog

If anyone is subscribed to my site via rss feed and you see old posts in your feed please let me know what feed you are using so I can try to fix it.(The reason I'm posting this is because in the #100DaysToOffload feed I'm subscribed to I saw a bunch of my old posts it in, like posts published in February 2019. @amolith any reason for this?)

@amolith thanks and thanks for running that feed. The main reason for it showing old posts may also be because I recently (like yesterday) changed the rss feed to show the last 150 posts (rather than last 10). Which I completely forgot I did until writing up this reply 😂 😅

If anyone talks down to you for using JS, PHP, Rails or anything else, ignore them. We have different experiences, clients and projects. When they say "Don't use it because It sucks", What most are really saying is "It never worked out for me, so I trash it every chance I get"via @traversymedia@twitter.com (https://twitter.com/traversymedia/status/1262352944697090051)#webdev #appliestoeverything

@Matter Absolutely it's ok to criticize languages and their ecosystem (or if it's hostile in anyway).

@mike regarding the encryption, I have it setup and it only asks me for the encryption password when syncing a new device (for example if you sync with nextcloud then install Joplin on your phone, once you set it with nextclous it won't let you see the actual contents until you enter the encryption password)there is a feature request to have an app-level password (https://github.com/laurent22/joplin/issues/289)

@kev It is cool that it has it's own niche, maybe consider putting up a poll (no just here on Mastodon) and see what other people think.

"12 pages of restrictions", that is how one pastor in the US thinks about the guidelines for churches reopening.Read my thoughts at https://gregoryhammond.ca/blog/there-are-just-too-many-restrictions-says-pastor-rick-warren/?ref=mastodonpost#100DaysToOffload

@jordan31 I have rewatched the video and edited a few things in my blog post.Look, I agree he is doing what is best for him and his church. I'm glad he isn't encouraging people to gather together in-person.I do think what is silly is that the church's first "motivation for every decision [...] is love and faith" (start at 1:24 in the video for proof). I have been in churches long enough to see right through that, every church does what is best for themselves and their pocket books.
