The story is interesting.I feel like to watch The Boy and the Heron, you need to have some understanding of Hayao Miyazaki the man.Miyazaki has a lot of thoughts that he's been wrestling with over his entire life. I don't want to give away much as to not spoil it for anyone who is going to see the movie, but I'll say this: If you haven't watched any of Miyazaki's films, you're going to come away pretty confused.The ending is, how shall I put it... abrupt. If you take it at face value you'd feel like saying "wait, that's it?". But if you think about what Miyazaki is getting across throughout the film, then the abrupt ending makes a lot of sense.4/🧵
