@futurebird It was doubly notable that her husband's ex praised Harris highly and also did not say anything about Harris's husband. It seems rare that an ex would openly praise the new spouse of their ex.

@futurebird I believe several US states have price gouging laws on the books for various things. I do not know how effectively they are enforced but there seems to be plenty of precedent. If anything the best approach might be to use FTC and CFPB like approaches with those or other agencies to control monopoly power and pricing.

@futurebird @CStamp The best analyses I have seen of Vance is that in each place he has been he has had a talent for finding the relevant person of power and sucking up to them to advance his career. He morphs himself to fit the image that powerful person wants him to have.He did it with Amy Chua and then Peter Thiel and now with Donald Trump. Perhaps it is that the ordinary person is not on that path to power so why should he care?
