@omnipotens @orbitalmartian @orbitalmartian@cyberplace.social Good to know we narrowed it down to a problem with the LR Mastodon instance, as you can subscribe and watch the video from another Mastodon instance. I’ll continue looking in this direction, although I’m more knowledgeable about PeerTube. I still suspect it’s a protocol messaging problem (ActivityPub), so it might be network or queue related. I doubt it has anything to do with TLS/SSL though.

@OpenComputeDesign At least try it with all the noise, mess and nosy-ness. And put it on PeerTube (unlisted and private) and post the link here. The internet needs some more authentic videos which aren't overproduced and made as clickbait.

@orbitalmartian As explained. Both mean the same, but I beleive the term FLOSS is more used in Europe (to acknowledge the French? Because Americans don't know the word Libre?). And floss.social is better than fosstodon.org ;)

@orbitalmartian Relatively fast, but it depends on the length of the video and if it’s queued as a job for the processor. Most likely though it’s some other problem, because you’re not even getting a preview, but I’ll have to dig deeper into the logs, which I can’t do right now. So, once again I’ll have to get back to you later.

@ChrisWere Brave Sync for everything but passwords (don't use browser password managers). Bookmarks, extensions, settings, etc. Decentralized sync, so no 3rd party account like Google Account or Firefox Account needed. Similar to syncthing.

The last post on their official blog is from 2020. https://blog.mozilla.org/services/As far as decentralized, I prefer decentralized by protocol (p2p, block exchange, etc.) instead decentralized by governance with running your own central home server.
