       @straydogstrut @skrishna I think there's a strong argument for us #TwitterRefugees to try and conform to this new space -- not only because it's polite but also because we may, unknowingly, risk bringing bad habits and potentially toxic engagement to yet another platform.In the week I've been here I've noticed many more ACTUAL CONVERSATIONS and almost no memes or snarky dunking on each other. We'd be well served to follow the OG's example and maintain that, if we can.

       @bacon my instance’s hosting company won’t let me see the raw files, so we may discover that most mastodon servers’ admin’s can’t actually read your private messages.At least mine can’t.

       There’s a lot of righteous anger being thrown around the Fediverse today at site admins who are learning as they go. I am one of those newbs. We are going to fuck up. A lot. There will be damage and hurt feelings. There will also hopefully be enough space for growth and learning and heartfelt improvement. I invite everybody to take a breath and ask yourself if in your rage you would rather tear down or if you want to build.
