       @pluralistic @mjg59 I think about this a lot, in particular around the drive to make things that hide how they break, or do so in opaque ways. Lots of ~origin stories~ center around stuff breaking, or otherwise rough edges. The danger of making things look like magic is that someone will treat it as such.

       @foone there were also these kinda neat rub-on transfers - The ones I had were intended to directly be etch resistant, but I'm sure you could use them as a mask just as readily.
